Baseball and Monkeys

This weekend was a really fun for us. On Friday we went to an Orioles' Baseball game in the famous Camden yards. This was Tyler and I's first trip into Baltimore and we had a great time. We got tickets to the game as a work function for Tyler. Tyler's friend Mike and his girlfriend Jenna also went. They are both friends from PSU, so it was great to hang out with them. The tickets came with an all you can eat dinner before the game. Hot dogs, pulled pork, macaroni salad, cookies... picnic type foods. The game was fun and the weather nice. Unfortunately the Orioles did not win (not a surprise since they currently have the worst record in Professional Baseball), but the night did end with a BANG! Yes, it was FIREWORKS night! They put on a spectacular display at Camden yards to various musical selections. It was a wonderful way to end the evening.

Now how do monkeys fit into the weekend? No we did not go to the zoo (though Tyler still owes me a trip since I really really want to see a panda). On Saturday we went to a place called GoApe, which is an outdoor tree-top adventure. It is an obstacle course suspended in the trees! Yes, it is as cool as it sounds. The entire course consists of five stages that each begin with climbing a rope ladder into the trees. Next, there are several obstacles connecting the trees which have platforms on them. After completing the obstacles in one stage (usually around 5) you zip-line back to the ground! We had an amazing time. There were six of us in our group. Mike, Jenna, another Mike (the other Mike's new roomate), Mike (#2)'s girlfriend Ashley and of course Tyler and I.

Here is the website for GoApe: http://www.goape.com/

They have several locations in the UK. We went to their newly opened first course in the United States. Tyler actually heard about this place on the radio driving in to work. It took one look at the website and we knew we had to do this!

Tyler and I geared up and ready to go!

A good view of the kind of obstacles there were.
