New Apartment

So we are all moved in to our new apartment in Bethesda, Maryland. Thankfully my dad had come along to help out. Between driving the moving truck and carrying all those boxes, it would have been three times worse if he hadn't come. Speaking of boxes, throughout the whole process I have to say that tearing the boxes down and moving them to the recycling bin had to be the most drawn out annoying part of this whole move. They just never seemed to go away completely. I know your anxious to see pictures, so here they are.

Outside view of our complex. We are on the second floor. It has all the amenities you would want, such as a pool, fitness center, gated parking garage, ect. We are also the only apartment in the cross hallway. It does get used by people going from the far hallway to the garage, but I still think its nice.

The kitchen is actually quite big. The picture doesn't really do it justice. Plenty of room for both of us to be in there making dinner. Tons of cabinet space too.

Dining room freshly assembled from Ikea. Boy do they make it easy to put furniture together! The table has a built in leaf that folds/swings into the table. It's pretty neat. Though if we're going to have guests we probably need some more chairs.

The bathroom is very plain right now. We are having trouble finding a shower curtain that we like that isn't ridiculously expensive. It does have a big soaker tub though.

We also have in apartment laundry in the hallway connecting the kitchen and bathroom, and mirrored sliding door his and her closets between the bedroom and the bathroom. Our walls are a bit blank right now, but we do have a few things hung up in the hallway/entry way that aren't in the pictures. I could have hung those up in the spaces above the couch or behind the dining room table, but they would just look extra tiny there since they aren't very large.

We still need to figure out the area and find out what places we like to go to, but all the necessities are nice and close. So far we are quite happy with our apartment choice.

  1. Hey Lisa and Tyler,
The apartment looks great! I am so happy that you guys got a decent and beautiful place to live. Was that a pool I saw??? Hope all is going well and let me know what you need for the apartment. Aunt Sharon's advice: Get good art, i.e., Impressionist Painters for conversation and good taste. (Tyler does not know that I lived with an artist for 10 years)
    or local artist.
    love as

  3. You two have done a great job and the apartment looks so nice! I DO love the table and chairs! You made some good choices with furniture, etc. that will allow you options in decorating and changing things as you build on the foundation you've laid. Don't forget to pull in 3D texture and different materials along with your accent colors. What a great start! We'e so proud of you both and can't wait to visit! Love you!
