Mike's Surprise Party

Last weekend we were in Philly for Mike's surprise birthday party set up by Jen. We drove up on Saturday and went shopping at the King of Prussia mall for a few hours before we had to be at the restaurant.

The restaurant we went to was Benihana (a Japanese Hibachi for those unfamiliar). Because there was the slim chance of him recognizing our cars we parked a ways away in the mall parking lot. When we got there everybody was hanging out in the bar area. We got to catch up with some people we hadn't seen since school, so it was good to see them.

After a little bit we were seated and picked out our meals while we waited for Mike and Jen to arrive. It was kind of funny, the tables ended up dividing with a Penn State table, and a Mike's friends from home table. The seating situation was perfect. One table was behind a divider that separated our area from the bar, and the other table was situated back so we could see if people were coming. The tables were facing each other too which was nice with our large party.

We actually saw them walking outside before they came in, and decided to hide behind our menu's. When they finally came around the divider we all yelled surprised. Mike was completely shocked, but kept looking at only the table of all his friends from home. He didn't know that the other table was there! Dan said out loud that he doesn't even know that were here, and Mike turned and had this completely stunned look on his face when he saw our whole table. A few people drove a very long way to be there and he couldn't believe they were there.

SURPRISE!!!!

Realizing there was a whole another table

After Mike got his heart rate back down, and all the hello's were in order, we started dinner. The food was good, and the chef's entertainment was alright, though I liked Rabata of Japan more.

Penn State Table

Afterward, we went back to Jens to hang out for the rest of the night. We had our first WaWa experience for breakfast in the morning before heading back home.
